Splendid S’mores Waffle Recipe
Nothing quite says summer like a s’mores waffle.
S’more’s have been a summer staple for almost 100 years.
Did you know that the first official s’more recipe was published in the 1927 Girl Scout guidebook “Tramping and Trailing with the Girl Scouts?”
The guidebook contained a number of helpful recipes including baked potatoes, roasted apples, squaw corn, and more. But, no recipe may be more iconic than their creation of the “Some More.” The recipe was later credited to troop leader, Loretta Scott Crew and was intended to feed 16 girl scouts.
Calling for 16 marshmallows, 16 graham crackers, and 8 plain chocolate bars to be split into two, the directions were simple. “Toast two marshmallows over the coals to a crisp gooey state and then put them inside of a graham cracker and chocolate bar sandwich. The heat of the marshmallows between the halves of chocolate bar will melt the chocolate a bit.”
After that the s’more was born and grew to become the classic that it is today.
So today, we want to share an easy s’mores recipe with a bit of a Lehi Mills twist. Get the same great taste of the s’more without the lasting campfire smell on your clothes. Our recipe is done on top of a delicious waffle, and instead of a chocolate bar calls for nutella, which only makes it better right? Try this S’mores Waffle for a new take on a summer classic.
