1. Red Velvet Waffles

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of Lehi Mills Belgian Waffle Mix
  • 2 cups of water
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • Red food coloring

Directions:

  • Preheat a Belgian waffle iron.
  • In a bowl, combine the Belgian waffle mix, water, cocoa powder, and sugar. Stir in the red food coloring until the batter is a rich red.
  • Pour some of the batter into the waffle iron and cook until steam stops coming from the waffle iron.
  • Remove your red velvet waffle and top with frosting and fresh fruit; we recommend topping it with cream cheese frosting — you can use this recipe from here.

2. Sugar Cookie Flag

Ingredients

For the Cookie:

  • 1 package of Lehi Mills Sugar Cookie mix
  • 1 cup of butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup of water
  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries

For the frosting:

  • 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 block cream cheese, softened
  • 2 T melted butter
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1–2 Tbs milk

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a bowl, combine the sugar cookie mix, butter, and water; we recommend using either a kitchen mixer or your hands to thoroughly mix the ingredients.
  3. Knead out the dough into a lined or greased cookie sheet and try to keep it relatively level (otherwise, it'll bake at different times). Place in the oven and bake for 15 - 25 minutes.
  4. While the cookie is baking, slice up the strawberries and make the cream cheese frosting by combining the powdered sugar, cream cheese, butter, vanilla, and milk in a bowl. Spoon the frosting into a piping bag.
  5. Remove the cookie from the oven and let cool. Once it's cooled, pipe a layer of frosting onto the cookie and begin designing the American flag out of blueberries, strawberries, and frosting. Take a picture of your 4th of July treat before cutting it into sections and eating it.

3. Very Berry Cinnamon Roll

4th of July Berry Rolls

Ingredients

for the dough:

  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 4 Tbs butter, cut into chunks
  • 3 1/4 – 3 1/2 cups Turkey Bread Flour, divided
  • 1 (.25 ounce) package instant or ‘rapid rise’ yeast
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg

for the filling:

  • 2 cups of mixed berry jam
  • 1 cup of sugar

Directions:

  1. To make the homemade cinnamon roll dough, place milk and 4 tablespoons of butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat on high for about 1 minute 30 seconds. The butter should be mostly melted, but do not boil. Stir and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl whisk together 2 cups of flour, yeast, white sugar, and salt. When the milk mixture has cooled to warm (not hot) add it to the flour mixture along with the egg. Beat until well combined, about 1 minute. Add in the rest of the flour a few tablespoons at a time, being careful not to add too much. The dough should be soft and slightly tacky. Knead the dough for 5 minutes and let rise for 30 in a warm area.
  3. When the dough has finished rising, roll it out into a rectangle about 12 x 14 inches. Spread the jam over the surface and use your fingers or the back of a spoon to gently spread around. Sprinkle the sugar onto the jam before rolling the dough, starting from the longer side of the rectangle; pinch the edges closed.
  4. Score the roll into 12 equal pieces and then cut it into rolls. Place in a 9 x 13 pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Cover the pan with a clean towel and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. When rolls have finished rising bake for 15-20 minutes or until light golden brown.
  6. Drizzle your 4th of July berry rolls with cream cheese frosting or a normal glaze; top with festive red, white, and blue sprinkles.

4. Brownie Ice Cream Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 1 box of Lehi Mills Double Fudge Brownie mix
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1/3 cup of vegetable oil
  • vanilla ice cream
  • 4th of July sprinkles

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a bowl, combine the brownie mix, water, and vegetable oil; beat with an electric beater for 2 minutes on high.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased or lined cookie sheet and back for 15 - 25 minutes, or until the brownies are cooked through.
  4. Remove the brownies from the oven and let cool. Cut the brownie sheet into 4in x 2in sections.
  5. Spoon ice cream onto a brownie sheet and press another brownie on top. Roll the brownie ice cream sandwich in a bowl of 4th of July sprinkles and enjoy!

5. Red, White, & Blue Pancake Stack

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of Lehi Mills Classic Pancake mix
  • 4 cups of water
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • Red food coloring

Directions:

  1. Preheat the pancake griddle.
  2. In a bowl, combine 2 cups of pancake mix with 2 cups of water. Stir and pour 1/2 cup of batter onto the griddle. Flip when ready and let cool on a cooling rack.
  3. While the normal pancakes are cooking, combine the remaining 2 cups of pancake mix, 2 cups of water, cocoa powder, and sugar in a separate bowl. Add in the red food color until it becomes a nice rich red.
  4. Pour 1/2 cup of red velvet batter onto the pancake griddle and cook. Repeat for the remaining batter.
  5. Stack a red and white pancake on a plate, alternating every other pancake, until you've reached the desired amount of pancakes. Top your 4th of July treat with whipped cream and blueberries and enjoy!

6. American Berry Muffin

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  2. In a bowl, combine all of the ingredients and stir until well combined.
  3. Use a cookie scoop to spoon the muffin batter into a lined or greased muffin tray.
  4. Bake for 18 – 22 minutes, or until the muffins are a golden brown.
  5. Remove from the oven and let cool before enjoying your 4th of July muffins.

7. BBQ Rolls

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Mix the dry ingredients together (yeast, flour, sugar, and salt). Add the water to the dry mixture and stir until moistened and the dough is a smooth, elastic ball. Knead for 15 minutes by hand or on low speed with a dough hook. The dough should feel slightly sticky and soft and will stretch without tearing. Add additional flour as needed.
  2. Place the dough in an oiled bowl and let rise until doubled (about 1 hour).
  3. Pull out chunks of dough (about 2 - 3 inches) and roll them into balls before placing them onto a greased or lined cookie sheet. Cover and let rise a second time for about 30 minutes.
  4. Bake at 375 F for 12-14 minutes, or until golden brown on top. Brush with more butter, if desired. Split rolls and stuff with bbq meat or sandwich ingredients. Enjoy at your next 4th of July barbeque!
